• Holiday Stress and Your Skin

    We all get busy this time of year. Between our normal work schedules and responsibilities we then try to squeeze in holiday parties,  baking, and shopping.

     

    Our skin takes a toll with all this stress. We produce cortisol when we are under large amounts of stress which can cause problems with our skin. So what should you do? Read below some ideas to help you with the holiday stress.

     

    1. Don't forget your "normal" skin care. Take care of yourself and your skin, even when you are tired or stressed.

    2. Take a bath or read a book. Take some time for yourself. Studies have shown that even if you take 10 minutes to yourself a day it can improve your stress and your mood.

    3. Get some sleep. Our body and our skin benefit from at least 6 to 8 hours per night. 

    4. Remember it's OK to say "no". You don't need to please everyone. 

    5. If you are feeling overwhelmed seek help from a trusted friend or even a therapist. You can't hold all of it in. Not only is it not good for your skin but it is also not good for your soul. 

     

    Of course it goes without saying you can always coming see me and talk and take a nap. Give yourself some "me" time. You don't need to do everything.

    Let's talk about the most important thing to humans...TIME! 

    I realize we all have limited time these days and it's hard to find the time to do some self care. 

     

    Your are a busy mom running around all day and the last thing you want to do is make time for your skin care, am I right? I get it! I too was in that boat. My daughter is now grown and out of the house but I still find myself exhausted at the end of the day but being an esthetician I kinda have to take care of my skin.

    Yes, you absolutely need to tone after you cleanse. Do you know why? Your skin has a p.h. balance of 4.5 to 5.5 and when you cleanse your skin you change that balance and toning helps restore that p.h. balance to the skin.

     

     

     

    The Moisturizer: Eve Hansen Hyaluronic Acid Cream

    This little jar is a powerhouse. Hyaluronic acid is great for smoothing out those fine lines and help revive dull skin. This is applied after your toner has completely dried. 

     

     

    Final note: Take 3 minutes and these 3 products and see how different your skin looks. My challenge to you is to try it for one week and see if you notice any changes. 

     

    ***Also I want to add that it pretty much impossible to find all good/natural ingredients in skin care on Amazon but I have used all of these personally and can tell you that they work.
